Sterling silver set with natural stones, strung and finished by hand. Nothing here is mass produced, and the stones are chosen one at a time.
The stone is chosen before anything else is decided. We have never found a way to hurry that part, and we have stopped looking.
Cupcup is a small studio. We keep a short collection and work in small runs, which is why our stones are chosen one at a time and no two finished pieces are quite identical.

Lemon quartz, held on a fine silver line
Faceted lemon quartz strung with freshwater pearls on sterling silver and knotted by hand, so the necklace follows the body instead of standing away from it.

Every piece is strung, set, filed and polished at the same bench by the same pair of hands. Stones are bought loose and chosen against each other under daylight, never ordered from a list alone. It is slower, and it is the only method we know that produces work we are willing to sign.

Sterling silver
925 sterling silver throughout the collection, including the parts nobody sees. Placeholder pending confirmation with the client: confirm how the gold finish pieces are made, whether vermeil, gold plated or gold filled, and state it here plainly before this page goes live.
Natural stones
Biwa and freshwater pearls, amethyst, amazonite, aventurine, peridot, sapphire, opal, apatite and shell, bought loose and chosen against each other under daylight.
Made in small numbers
Each design is made in a small run, often only one or two of a kind. When a stone is gone it is gone, and the next run will not look exactly the same.
Finished by hand
Stringing, setting and polishing are done at the bench, not by machine. The marks of that are part of the piece.
